Just so we're clear - We're Fucked. I'll be adding links here as I come across them highlighting the false debate over the climategate disclosures.
Argument 1:
"Conspiracies Cannot Exist"
Here's an article detailing how the climate researchers from around the globe built a self-reinforcing echo chamber for both disseminating and defending their views from actual scientific debate.[Canada Free Press]
Argument 2:
"The Data Still Doesn't Lie"
Despite admissions that raw data sets were modified to hide periods of cooling this argument avoids directly confronting the fact that through suppression of other research venues and perspectives the data doesn't say anything conclusive about man-made climate change, unless you want it to. [Dr. Roy Spencer]
Argument 3:
"Scientists Know What They're Talking About, Trust Us"
Intellectual comment-wars have broken out on websites that were previously purely academic resources, with a small majority of professional scientists encouraging a 'circling of the wagons' to defend the climate conclusion. This argument again avoids confronting directly that leading figures built the "consensus view" upon a fraud. Not to mention the fact that a major avenue of historic climate record making seems to implicate non-human influence more strongly than was previously known. [BBC]
Argument 4:
"A 'Natural' Stasis Exists and Must Be Maintained"
This is perhaps the largest rhetorical fraud to rear it's head in the climategate debate - for it's presence can only be truly recognized in it's distinct absence from the debate. For all intents and purposes it looks as if CO2 levels do not affect climate in the one-to-one manner pushed by climate change gurus. [Again, Dr. Spencer]
Argument 5:
"The Data and the Models Are Explicit"
Well, only when they're told to be. [Cube Antics]

Climate Hoax Means We're Fucked
So it looks like we've been had. Years of climatic research have been systematically undermined and manipulated to sell the entire planet on the 'Global Warming' bill of goods. Leading public figures for the so-called 'climate change industry', a collaboration of research institutions and manufacturers and service providers, have been intentionally misleading the public while simultaneously cajoling nay-sayers in the field into toeing the party line.
Recently leaked emails point to disturbing fraud in bilking governments for research grants using inflated numbers as well as the admission that climate change "IPCC reports and the broader climate negotiations were working to the globalisation agenda driven by organisations like the WTO." The deception gives the appearance of a cover for massive tax increases for governments around the globe as well as a convenient screen for lower living standards in the most developed industrialized nations.
So tell me, how do you feel about where we are and where we're going on this planet?
Personally I think our civilization is built on a web of deceptions that is quickly cracking and revealing the disturbing truth underneath. I would be fine with being a vegetarian who uses efficient little gadgets to get around my mostly natural environment to save the trees and perhaps leave enough to support the needs of a human being half a world away. I don't feel the same way having been manipulated, nor would I if forced to alter my behaviors at the barrel of a gun.
This follow-up to initial reports has good perspective. [The Atlantic]
